To The Five People That Scan This Blog

Jammie Thomas was sued by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) for alleged music pirating and illegal sharing of songs. She was fined $220,000. She is a 30-year-old single mom from Brainerd, MN with an annual income of $36,000.

This is a ground breaking court case for those who are attempting to make free sound illegal!

Jammie may now face the reality of 1/4 of her paycheck going to the RIAA for the rest of her life.

On the upside, although Jammie hasn't had any sort of radical history, she's choosing to carry on with her resistance. Jammie's lawyer has submitted a motion to throw out the verdict based on the constitutionality of the judgment.
